The challenge
Create a truly standout hosting event for Vox Media in the crowded landscape of CES.
How we did it
Rather than following the standard CES parties-and-dinners playbook, we took the event completely out of the conference box. We curated an exclusive list of 30 top-tier executives from companies including GE, Google, Taco Bell, and A&E networks. We flew guests to the base of the Grand Canyon via helicopter, where Vox Media executives hosted a gourmet luncheon in a setting like no other.
Results
The Grand Canyon luncheon was the most talked-about CES activation of the year. It’s still seen as an iconic breakthrough. The event drove awareness of Vox Media’s key initiatives for the year and created invaluable word-of-mouth buzz about the brand.
